ABB performance optimization for hoists
A new version of ABB Ability Performance Optimization for hoists has been launched by ABB to meet the need for increased digitization in the mining industry. The upgraded digital service enables maintenance and a higher level of performance optimization through more sophisticated predictive analytics.
ABB Ability Performance Optimization for hoists 3.1 provides early detection of hoist anomalies in operations and builds on previous versions to improve mining hoist uptime, availability, performance and productivity by providing actionable indicator insights key performance indicators (KPIs). Hosted on the ABB Ability Edgenius dashboard application, ABB Ability’s performance optimization for hoists enables quick analysis and insights into any plant operation.
The new version offers new KPI parameters based on input from ABB customers and experts. New KPIs can be set for service hoist availability, lift cycle statistics, EMS statistics, brake caliper spring operating times, accumulator precharge pressure, deceleration variation , guide wire tension, creep distance and clutch time. Cybersecurity assessments and solutions to protect customer data are included.
Predictive analysis of a mine hoist’s condition prevents unexpected, time-consuming and costly downtime operations. Data is automatically collected, segregated and managed, then securely monitored and analyzed to generate actionable insights that can help increase production performance, identify safety risks and provide optimized maintenance planning. ABB experts can analyze the data to identify potential problems before they arise and take action when needed. This improves equipment availability and the overall safety of mining operations.
