How to play Deep Rock Galactic
New players entering Deep Rock Galactic might find that space is not good for dwarves, especially not those who mine rock and stone. So you wonder how to play Deep Rock Galactic? First, you’ll need a copy of the game on Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam.
Once you load a copy of the game, all new players will automatically be sent to the tutorial. It’s not your first time, but you need a simple reminder? Just press Start while in-game, then select the Miner’s Handbook. From there, select Getting Started, then select Basics. Finally, in the top right corner of the Basics page, select Launch Tutorial.
Now, the tutorial won’t cover everything unfortunately. After that, players will be free to play as they wish. Simply select the Gunner, Scout, Engineer or Driller class. Then select a mission type, choose whether you want to go it alone or with others, and mine rock and stone!
How to Get Perks in Deep Rock Galactic
Perks are pretty easy to get in Deep Rock Galactic, but they’re a bit easy to miss. As a dwarf who only thought about extracting and killing alien bugs, I also had no idea how to get boons. In fact, for a while I didn’t even know there were perks in the game. But don’t worry, I’ll tell you how to get perks in Deep Rock Galactic. So you don’t play a lot of missions without them like me.
First, you need to know where to get benefits. Head to one of the personal cabins, the cabins in which you appear, when you are at the space station. You will find two terminals there, one to change class and the other for the benefits. The terminal for benefits is labeled the Key Performance Indicators terminal, or KPI for short. You can view stats, milestones, and benefits there. Now you know where players get their perks.
Finally, there are two more things to know. How to unlock perks and where to equip them. To explain, to unlock perks on the KPI terminal, you must first have perk points. How to get bonus points? Well, that’s what the milestones tab of the KPI terminal is for.
When you’ve completed a stage, head to the terminal and claim that stage. Once claimed, the player should receive a set number of bonus points depending on the stage they have completed. Now that you have perk points, you can now unlock a perk of your choice. Next, head to the Space Station Equipment Terminal and equip all of the perks in the red or blue perk slots under the star tab. Finally, you’re done!
How to Get Pickaxe Parts in Deep Rock Galactic
During your work at Deep Rock Galactic, you may have seen many of these with perfectly crafted pickaxes. Pickaxes here are indeed customizable and to customize your own pickaxe you need pickaxe coins. How to get Pickaxe Coins in Deep Rock Galactic is the question, and I got the answer. Well, three answers.
One way to get these cosmetic items is to play Season 1, named Rival Incursions, which is available from now until March or April 2022. This season includes a free performance pass with 100 free cosmetic tiers and more . In the pass, the Arc Welder’s Delight pickaxe set is available to earn.
Another way to earn pickaxe coins is to increase your player rank and complete missions that reward pickaxe sets. Although this method may take some time, it will guarantee a pickaxe at the end. There are a total of four Pickaxe Hunts, one at player rank 20 with another at 30, 50, and 70. Each mission gives a set of specific Pickaxe pieces that are definitely worth completing.
Finally, there is another way to receive pickaxe coins. Unfortunately, this method is completely random and does not always yield Pickaxe Coins. It’s because of lost packs. Lost Packs are dwarf backpacks that have been lost in the dark and have a drop chance that depends on the duration of a mission. In these missions, you can find a helmet that will lead you to a Lost Pack. Once found, there is a chance the player will receive a pickaxe piece or armor color. With 20 armor colors to collect and 40 pickaxe pieces, it’s completely random so hope for the best.
How to promote in Deep Rock Galactic
Growing in the company is not easy. Only those with the dedication and determination to push forward are selected for promotion. To promote, the player must play through 25 levels of a class. But that’s not all, there is more.
Once at level 25 with any class, the player must accept the promotion assignment at the assignment terminal. Once the mission is accepted, you must complete the mission to then have the possibility of promoting a class. Although the company still needs some compensation for your well-deserved promotion, usually money and resources.
When you’re completely ready to promote a character, it’s important to know where you need to go. First, head to Memorial Hall on the space platform. Next, head to the Promotion Terminal which is at the end of Memorial Hall. Once there, promote your character and you’re done. Congratulation! You promoted your first character. Now, better leave before Mission Control receives your case! And don’t forget to mine for Rock and Stone!
I’ve been playing since Nintendo 64 and loved every second of it. Well, almost every second. There are a few exceptions.
