Atomic Heart release date, trailer and gameplay
The basic gameplay loop in “Atomic Heart” consists of three main elements: combat, exploration, and crafting. As you progress through the linear story, you face a multitude of enemies, including an army of killer robots connected to a hive mind. These craft patrol both land and air and call in reinforcements as soon as they detect Major P-3. Players can use hacking and stealth to help mitigate these swarms, or fight their way through using weapons and a polymer gauntlet with unique abilities.
P-3’s search for the truth leads him to several test sites and research facilities that contain valuable information. According to a Wccftech interview with Mundfish CEO Robert Bagratuni, “Atomic Heart” incorporates “many different biomes, with a wide range of content.” A look at the official site reveals at least six different environments: Pavlov, Vavilov, VDNH, Popov, Sakhalin, and Neptune. However, the company only shared information about Pavlov, a medical research complex.
Players can use the crafting system to create or modify weapons drawn from a range of over 30 melee and firearm options. You seem to be picking up components and ammo from the environment, the latter being rare. Mundfish encourages you to use strategy, study enemy behavior, and have a plan of action as you move through each area. Stealth and foresight, as opposed to brute force, may just help you win the day and avoid a grisly fate.
