Celtic boss Postecoglou says he wants to extend Callum McGregor’s contract
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has expressed a desire to offer Callum McGregor a new contract.
The Greek-Aussian boss has identified making new deals a priority with the transfer window closed. McGregor, named captain this summer, last signed a new deal in 2019 [Sky Sports]. After signing a five-year contract, his time with the club would end in 2024.
However, Postecoglou, describing his own long-term commitment, said he wanted McGregor to be present for an even more sustained stay at the club.
McGregor went through Celtic Academy. Barring a 13-14 loan to Notts County, he has been a mainstay of the club through the youth and first-team levels.

Callum McGregor is the definition of a pillar.
